A Style Avenue

Mumbai, we know is the land of opportunities, but if its giving us a chance to take these opportunities in style, the why not?! And hence in this beautiful city you definitely cant miss street shopping. Mumbai being the hub of Fashion, provides markets for people ranging from penny-pinchers to high end shopoholics.

But Street Shopping is a task! It generally includes export rejects. These export rejects are the ones that have minor defects, but otherwise highly doubt-able! Everyone might not be in for it but for people who love to mix and match, well this is for you’ll!

There are dozens of places in this Bombaiyya shehar where you will get the so called cheap stuff! Starting with the downtown Mumbai, there is of course Colaba Causeway. A treasure of funky as well as sophisticated jewelry. You will find all the blingy things at the lowest most prices. Along with jewelry, bags, shoes, clothes and antiques are the attractions. On the other side is the The Fashion Street. Well, Mumbai does deserve a street with that name. Its famous for clothes and shoes. More of a guy thing but full of fake things. Cheap stuff but definitely worth it! Apart from these main markets, there are a few scattered ones near CST that can be explored. Coming down to suburbs, all that comes to our minds is Bandra. Linking road, Hill road, Water-field road and many many other streets are a must visit if you are looking for hardcore street shopping. There is nothing that is not available there, even fake makeup! I couldn’t believe my eyes, but yeah they do sell fake MAC! From shoes to clothes to bags to even lingerie, you’ll find everything! Going a little further ahead, Juhu Alpha, Vile Parle, Lokhandwala and
Andheri markets are famous for clothing, footwear and accessories.

A few tips that can be followed when you are all set to go Street Shopping:

Make a list of what you want to buy, but don’t strictly abide by it:
Making a list will shape your hunt for the things you want but do not have a horse vision. Look out for other stuff as well, you never know you might find a hidden gem. heh!

Chit Chat with the Seller: Befriend the Seller, sometimes if you are more friendly they tend to show you more designs and also give you more discount. Who wouldn’t want that!?

Bargaining is a MUST: This is by default applicable. If you don’t bargain your heart is just to big to fit in the entire world. Cmon be Practical! Be Gujju! hah! Start with the least amount approximately 1/3rd the price and then increase if necessary.

Its time to Move on: All the shops on the streets have similar stuff. If you don’t get something in a reasonable price, you will probably get it in the next shop or maybe the next. Don’t give up. Be stern!

There is a hole in your pocket mister: Being export rejects, the clothes will tend to have holes and loose threads. Look for it, scan tge entire clothing before shelling some money.

Setting side by side is necessary: Compare the things you are looking for in at least two to three shops. And then go for the best price!

Mix it up: Its always better to mix your high end clothes with your street stuff! Whether it is the chunky jewelry or those classy bags or sometimes even one piece maxis. Teaming it up contrasting expensive stuff changes the entire look and adds more class to it!

At the end, after everything you are always going to be the happiest person to buy so many things for such little price! that’s the whole fun behind street
